Consultants Against Covid-19 hits £1 million in pro bono support
When the pandemic hit, Movemeon launched ‘'Consultants Against Covid-19.' Over just a few months, the scheme has seen more than 60 consultants placed pro bono at over 30 organisations, saving an estimated £1 million in consulting fees.
The 2020 Covid-19 pandemic has seen organisations in every sector and industry suffer a period of deep economic and social crisis. In order to help organisations impacted by the situation, at the beginning of the pandemic, Movemeon launched Consultants Against Covid-19, a pool of consultants ready to volunteer their services. Launched by Jack Fitch and Clare Tsangari, in just days, close to 300 consultants and professionals had volunteered their expertise and joined the pool.
Since then, more than 450 professionals have volunteered to provide their services for free to over 30 public health organisations, charities and government at the national level. The total savings in services to these organisations is now over £1 million. Despite this success, however, the initiative’s organisers are determined to do even more moving forward.
As the impact of Covid-19 will be felt for the foreseeable future, and due to the big response to the initiative, Consultants Against Covid is broadening its reach. Continuing to run the service as a permanent offering, it will provide short-term advisory support for organisations in need – including education services, social organisations, small businesses and more – even after the pandemic may eventually draw to a close.
Tsangari commented, “I am very proud to have led the Consultants against Covid-19 initiative through this global crisis. Our members are truly inspirational; we wouldn’t have been able to offer an initiative like this without their incredible effort, expertise and support!”
In its continued form, Consultants against Covid-19 turns into Movemeon’s pro bono professionals, and will maintain 100% free support, with no fees from its professionals or from the organisation. Services can be obtained from a new landing page exclusively for Movemeon’s pro bono professionals, and include advisory to part-time, functional skillset, and industry expertise work.
Fitch added, “It’s been a pleasure working on Consultants Against Covid with all the amazing Charities, Not For Profits and Social Organisations as well as all of our members who kindly volunteered their time, from International Charities right down to Social Projects launched this year. It’s been a real joy to hear about the positive impact of the work being done.”
