Derek McAllan joins RSM as a Partner in Thames Valley

Professional services firm RSM has appointed Derek McAllan as a Partner in its Thames Valley office.

New Partner Derek McAllan has over 30 years’ experience in the Thames Valley market, including 17 years as an Audit Partner with KPMG. He specialises as a business adviser to firms in a variety of sectors including life sciences, private equity, automotive retail and owner managed.

Commenting on his new challenge, McAllan stated, “I am delighted to be joining RSM, a firm that is passionate about, and truly committed to delivering first class client service, value, sound advice and expertise to the middle market.”

Throughout his career, McAllan has worked on secondment as a Consultant Accountant with NatWest in the Thames Valley, as well as holding a senior finance position with multi-site motor retailer and property developer Hartwell. He is based in RSM’s Basingstoke office.

Focused on the middle market, RSM is one of several mid-tier professional services firms vying to benefit from the new competition rules aimed at challenging the dominance of the Big Four – and is therefore boosting its expertise across its auditing and accounting advisory offering.

In September, this saw RSM appoint Ruth Chapman as a Partner in its Leicester office. Previously, Chapman was employed in Deloitte’s National Accounting & Auditing (NAA) technical team for over a decade.
