Business advisory firm Quantuma has bolstered its Southampton team with the appointment of new Director, Kelly Semke. Re-joining the firm she was one of the founding partners of, Semke will now focus on supporting a broad range of businesses across Southampton and the South coast.

An independent advisory firm covering a variety of different service lines, Quantuma is still best known for its expertise in insolvency and restructuring work – something which has positioned it for strong growth in 2020. This attracted major investment earlier in the year from the AIM-listed K3 Capital Group. The acquisition concluded for around £27 million, as demand for consultancies specialising in insolvency and restructuring work from UK clients had spiked dramatically amid the coronavirus pandemic.

As Quantuma prepares for a hefty workload in the coming months, the firm has welcomed Kelly Semke to its Southampton office as a new Director. Originally a founding Partner at Quantuma, Semke re-joins the firm after five years working as a Consultant with Neil Taylor Insolvency, and as a Finance Director with Osprey Technical Consulting.

Carl Jackson, CEO at Quantuma stated, “It’s a pleasure to welcome Kelly back to Quantuma. Her experience as a restructuring professional and specialist knowledge and experience will be invaluable to the firm as we continue to grow in Southampton and provide crucial advisory support to businesses.”

Semke has over 20 years’ worth of experience in the business recovery and insolvency industry, having worked her way up the ranks at RSM Tenon to form part of the firm’s National Insolvency Practice management team. In her first spell with Quantuma, Semke headed up the Southampton office and played an instrumental role in the firm’s rapid growth. In her new role, she will support a broad range of businesses across Southampton and the South coast, while developing specialisms in the marine, manufacturing and retail sectors.

Commenting on her appointment, Semke said, “Businesses across all sectors are experiencing a huge amount of turmoil and uncertainty as the impact of the Covid-19 continues to unfold. Quantuma is a growing advisory firm that is well-placed to support those businesses, and I am delighted to be re-joining the firm to offer my skills and experience to clients and assist them in working their way through the crisis.”

The return of Semke is the latest in a string of senior appointments and promotions in Quantuma’s Southampton office this year. This includes the appointment of Philippa Robinson, as Director in the firm’s Corporate Finance team, and the promotion of Simon Campbell to a Managing Director role in April.
