Chad Griffin joins FRP Advisory as Partner in Scotland
Business advisory firm FRP has appointed insolvency and restructuring specialist Chad Griffin as a Partner in its Scotland team. He has more than 26 years of restructuring and insolvency experience, including cross-border transactions and UK mid-market restructurings / insolvencies.
Commenting on his appointment, Chad Griffin said, “The financial help from the Government has bought some time, but the months ahead are going to be increasingly fraught. The Oil and Gas sector for example is likely to face a difficult period with businesses having to deal with the low oil price and the impending financial pressures. Unfortunately, in the second half of the year we are likely to see a rise in the number of companies across the Scottish economy facing serious financial issues and needing urgent support.”
FRP Advisory is one of the UK’s largest independent business advisory firms specialising in corporate restructuring, corporate finance, forensic services, pensions advisory and debt advisory. It has a strong reputation and track record for creating, preserving, and recovering value across a range of complex situations. Its advisers work at board level, with investors, lenders, government and regulatory bodies, plus other professionals and individuals requiring professional support.
The firm’s restructuring wing will be in keen demand in the months ahead, and Griffin has gained a great deal of valuable restructuring and insolvency experience in many sectors and am keen to help businesses and advisers tackle some of the serious financial challenges of 2020. Griffin arrives from FTI Consulting in London, an independent practice that he helped launch and grow for the last 15 years. High profile cases he has worked on recently include the 2019 Debenhams administration, the insolvency of Pride Dundee and the Iona Energy CVA and restructuring.
Speaking on the new appointment, Tom MacLennan, Partner with FRP Advisory in Scotland, remarked, “The team in Scotland warmly welcomes Chad as our fourth partner in Scotland at a key point in the development of the business. He is well-known in the Scottish insolvency market and has taken a lead role in many high-profile cases. His skills and experience will complement our business and will position us well to meet a steady growth in demand for our expertise.”
The news comes just a month after FRP Advisory promoted two members of its restructuring advisory team to Partner, amid a series of senior promotions across the UK. Nathan Jones and David Shambrook were rewarded with the roles, as demand for restructuring services from consulting firms boomed thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic.
