Andrew Burn named KPMG UK Head of Automotive

Restructuring expert Andrew Burn has been named as KPMG UK’s new Head of Automotive. Burn takes over from the out-going Justin Benson.

New car registrations continued their three-year slide in the UK in 2019. The 2.31 million registrations of last year constituted the lowest number since 2013, and are almost certain to tumble further in 2020 – as a global pandemic and recession look to put a sizable dent in sales.

With the UK automotive sector facing a period of crisis, then, KPMG has appointed a new UK Head of Automotive with immediate effect. Andrew Burn is a Partner within the firm’s restructuring practice, and has over 25 years of experience in guiding clients through challenging situations. He has provided company side restructuring advice across the public and private sectors, as well as to privately owned and private equity-backed companies and PLCs.

Over the last ten years, Burn has worked extensively with clients in the automotive sector across the UK and Europe, advising on various areas including supply chain risk management. He succeeds Justin Benson who has left the firm to pursue a new opportunity as Partner and Head of Automotive and Mobility with Vendigital.
