Quantuma makes three senior appointments across UK
Rapidly expanding consultancy Quantuma has once again grown its UK profile, this time with a string of new hires in its British business. The firm has promoted both marketing expert Marie Wadeson and restructuring specialist, Simon Campbell to the position of Partner, while it has appointed Philippa Robinson as a Director in its corporate finance team.
Quantuma has been steadily adding to its geographical spread in Britain in recent months. Earlier in 2020, the firm acquired Glasgow-based insolvency and restructuring practice WRI Associates in order to expand into Scotland. The news was soon followed by the launch of Quantuma’s 16th UK office, in Wales, while another acquisition – this time of Bell Advisory – bolstered its presence in Manchester. Now, as the firm finds its restructuring-centred services in keen demand, Quantuma has boosted its restructuring, marketing and corporate finance teams with a series of key appointments.
Marie Wadeson has been promoted to Partner, having joined Quantuma as Head of Marketing in 2016. Wadeson has more than 15 years of experience relating to corporate promotional work, including eight years at global accounting and advisory firm Mazars where she was responsible for national marketing activities and stakeholder management. Since joining Quantuma, Wade has been responsible for driving the growth of the business through setting and delivering the firm-wide corporate marketing strategy. She will continue to lead the growing marketing team through Quantuma’s next stage of growth in the UK and overseas.
Wadeson said, “In the professional services sector, it is less common for those in non-fee earning roles to secure partnership roles, so this promotion is a real achievement for me personally. Quantuma is a people-led business that is not afraid to break with convention, and I am looking forward to continuing to develop our challenger brand as we grow at a rapid rate, both in the UK and in strategic overseas markets.”
Simon Campbell has also been elevated to the rank of Partner – this time in Quantuma’s Southampton office, where he will work alongside existing partners Andrew Watling and David Meany, as they work to bolster the firm’s presence in the South. Campbell arrived at Quantuma four years ago, and specialises in restructuring, insolvency and corporate recovery. Prior to joining the firm, he held positions at Grant Thornton and, most recently, spent almost 10 years in senior positions at a boutique restructuring firm.
Campbell commented, “I am delighted to have been admitted to the partnership at such a unique firm. I have enjoyed being part of Quantuma’s stella growth since I joined four years ago, and I am looking forward to working with Andrew Watling and David Meany to further develop the firm’s presence on the south coast and beyond.”
Carl Jackson, the Managing Partner who founded Quantuma in 2013, said, “There is nothing that gives me greater pleasure than to develop homegrown talent through to partnership. Over the last few years, Simon has secured and delivered some outstanding returns for stakeholders and investors… Marie has been critical in the growth of the entire business through the marketing and business development functions, as well as building a strong in-house marketing team.”
Philippa Robinson has meanwhile joined Quantuma as a Director in its corporate finance team. She will now act as the lead advisor on a variety of transactions, including fund raises, sale mandates, and management buy outs. She will play a key role in understanding the businesses that Quantuma advises, picking apart any issues and finding effective solutions.
Robinson has over 20 years of experience in advising businessesm and joins Quantuma after qualifying with KPMG to become a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. In her role at KPMG, she spent time on both the corporate tax and corporate finance teams.
Speaking on her new challenge, Robinson remarked, “Quantuma is well-known across the mid-market for providing a wide breadth of services whilst standing out from traditional professional services firm. While we are living in uncertain times at the moment, I am excited to join Quantuma in its phase of growth and to be in a position to provide support to businesses that require a vast variety of corporate finance services.”
Mark Lucas, Head of Corporate Finance at Quantuma, said, “Over the past year, our corporate finance team at Quantuma has grown considerably in line with growing demands for our first-rate advisory, fundraising and virtual FD services.”
