FTI Consulting adds Cynthia Catlett in Latin America
FTI Consulting has expanded its Forensic & Litigation Consulting practice with Cynthia Catlett. The former Grant Thornton partner joins the advisory as a Managing Director and will be based in São Paulo.
A licensed US attorney by trade, Cynthia Catlett's experience includes forensic engagements in Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America, in both the public and private sectors. She has experience devising and structuring regulatory compliance strategies, planning and executing fraud investigations, conducting Foreign Corrupt Practices Act risk assessments and assisting clients in disputes and arbitral proceedings. She has in recent years assisted clients in responding to regulatory agencies, such as the Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil ("CVM"), Department of Justice ("DOJ") and Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") in Brazil and in the U.S., as well as assisting clients in Voluntary Disclosure Programs with government agencies.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Catlett was a Partner of the Forensic Investigations & Disputes Services practice at Grant Thornton, where she was responsible for multi-jurisdictional compliance and anti-corruption work in Brazil and across Latin America. Prior to that, she worked at EY, with the Office of the Attorney General's Criminal Division in Washington, D.C. and the World Bank, where she investigated allegations of fraud, corruption, collusion, coercion and obstruction in World Bank financed projects.

Catlett holds a J.D. from the University of the District of Columbia, where she graduated cum laude and a B.A. in International Economics from the George Washington University, where she graduated magna cum laude.
