Lancia appoints Simon Williams and Nic Norman-Smith
Management and technology consultancy LanciaConsult has added Simon Williams and Nic Norman-Smith to its leadership team to help drive the firm’s ongoing expansion.
Singapore-headquartered global management and technology consultancy LanciaConsult has made two key appointments to its leadership team as the firm pursues a path of global expansion. Longstanding Lancia advisor and non-executive director Nic Norman-Smith has moved into an executive role as the firm’s new commercial managing director, while Simon Williams takes up Norman-Smith’s vacant position as a non-executive director on Lancia’s supervisory board.
A non-executive advisor to a number of other companies, Williams is an experienced board director and entrepreneur, having over thirty years ago co-founded IT advisory The DMW Group, where he served as a director and led the firm’s government practice. Since then, Williams has also founded Peakflow.Zone – where he coaches people with high potential using the science of human performance. Earlier in career he spent time with Andersen Consulting.
“We are thrilled to add someone of Simon’s stature and experience to our board. He has a proven track record in the consulting industry and more broadly as an entrepreneur and leader. The timing is perfect, as Simon’s counsel will help accelerate Lancia’s expansion plans,” said Lancia group managing director Jeff Cronkshaw, who has since co-founding the firm in Singapore already overseen the addition of offices in London, Edinburgh, Bristol, Hamburg and Hong Kong.
Norman-Smith has meanwhile been appointed as Lancia’s new commercial managing director, after having served as an advisor and non-executive director on the consultancy’s supervisory board for the past seven years. During this time, Norman-Smith has also acted as the chief investment officer at Johannesburg-headquartered investment firm Lentus Asset Management, helping to grow the business from its start-up phase into a mature financial services provider.
Previously, he spent time with Accenture’s strategy consulting practice – a common feature among Lancia’s leadership team, including Cronkshaw, who spent eight years at the firm prior to founding Lancia. In his new role, Norman-Smith will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of the firm’s rapidly expanding commercial activities across Europe, the US and Asia, including shaping its strategic growth and acquisition strategy and building industry partnerships.
Currently, the firm serves clients in consulting, technology, delivery and digital marketing. “We’re delighted to welcome Nic on a full-time basis,” said Cronkshaw. “His deep knowledge of our business, coupled with his investment industry experience, is going to complement the skillsets within our existing management team. The addition will be hugely beneficial as we continue to enhance our client offerings through organic growth, partnerships and acquisitions.”
