RSM hires Natasha Lucas as private client Partner
Audit and advisory firm RSM has appointed Natasha Lucas as a Partner in its private client team. Lucas arrives at RSM from London-based investment firm Ferox Capital where she was CFO, having spent seven years with Big Four firms before that.
While the minimum amount of assets may vary, a private client is a wealthy individual who typically has at least £1 million in assets invested with a brokerage or investment management company. Minimising that wealth’s exposure to taxation is a priority for many private clients, and effective tax planning has a large part to play in this process – something many individuals turn to the professional services sector for.
RSM’s services to private clients includes annual compliance service, advice on capital gains, inheritance tax, pensions planning, exit and succession planning including entrepreneurs’ relief, residential property tax, residence and domicile advice, leading with tax investigations by HMRC and advice on holding assets, whether that be in a UK trust, offshore trust or a personal investment company. In order to bolster its private client capacities amid a period of uncertainty surrounding a number of new tax rulings, RSM has installed Natasha Lucas as a new Partner.
Taking up her new role with RSM’s private client tax team in Guildford, Lucas will now deal with a wide range of tax matters for ultra-high-net worth individuals, their families and related businesses, both in the UK and overseas. Having spent almost two decades in this line of work, Lucas specialises in providing advice to families, entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses in respect of their personal activities, as well providing the full spectrum of family office services, largely to individuals who made their wealth in the financial services industry.
Having commenced her career with Big Four firm Deloitte, where she became a Director having spent five years at the company, Lucas joined rival PwC in 2007. There, she served for two years as a Tax Director before joining Ferox Capital. At the privately owned investment manager, which specialises in strategies in the global convertible bond markets, Lucas spent 11 years as a Tax Partner and as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer.
Gary Heynes, RSM’s Head of Private Client Services in UK and Europe, said, “I’m delighted to welcome Natasha to the RSM team. She brings with her a great depth of experience to our expanding ultra-high-net worth and multinational family client base and will support our continued growth of family office services across the firm.”
