Synechron buys US-based digital design firm usable
IT consulting firm Synechron has acquired US-based digital design firm usable. The acquisition will further expand Synechron’s digital technology division, SyneStudio, hereby strengthening its digital design and user interface/user experience skills.
usable is an in 2012 founded Brooklyn-based experience design agency that focuses on the holistic experience of the user in digital products. The firm develops strategy and designs for digital products – including apps, websites, ecommerce experiences, wearables, touch screen walls, and any other product experiences where a user is involved – for a variety of clients ranging from start-ups to fortune 50 companies.
IT consulting firm Synechron is one of the larger pure-play technology consulting and outsourcing provider for the financial services industry. The firm offers software application development, application management and systems & technology integration services, and specialises in delivering advanced digital solutions. Synechron was founded in 2001 in New York, and has since grown quickly, expanding its footprint to 16 countries* across the world and its staff to more than 5,500 professionals.
To strengthen and further expand its digital design and user interface/user experience capabilities, Synechron recently announced its acquisition of usable. The deal will specifically boost SyneStudio, Synechron’s dedicated digital technology division, which the firm launched in the US, Canada, UK, Asia Pacific, and Middle East to provide digital and business technology and end-to-end IT services. The studio engineers, designs, develops and manages technology initiatives for agencies, ad networks and exchanges, data management platforms, demand-side platforms, publications, and the digital ecosystem at large.

Acquisition spree
For Synechron, the acquisition of usable is the sixth transaction in the space of six years, including the recently bought Team Trade (specialist in business consulting and software integration). Other purchases include 110 Technologies (specialist provider of testing services to investment banks), SysCore Solutions (enterprise technology strategy and data architecture consulting), Esquire Systems (IT consulting and services company) and Double Effect (management consultancy firm).
