Global management consulting firm L.E.K. Consulting has promoted six new partners in its London headquarters.

Mark Boyd-Boland has been with L.E.K. Consulting for six years, having previously worked as corporate/M&A lawyer at Macfarlanes and Herbert Smith Freehills in the UK, and Allens in Australia. He joined the consulting firm after completing his MBA programme at INSEAD.

Boyd-Boland specialises in topics including growth strategy, digital strategy, proposition development, customer segmentation, loyalty and customer experience, and market entry, with a focus on clients in the retail, consumer products, and travel and leisure sectors. He also has a track record in mergers & acquisitions, having contributed to UK and European multiple transactions, providing both buy- and sell-side advisory.

Andre Valente worked five years for Big Four firm Deloitte in its Tax Consulting division, before completing his MBA at INSEAD and joining L.E.K.’s London office in 2012. He is a member of the firm’s European Healthcare and Life Sciences practices, working with global medical devices (including ophthalmology and dental), healthcare services and private equity clients on corporate strategy, transformation and deals.

Within the Life Sciences practices, the Portuguese national currently co-leads the majority of the firm’s contract pharmaceutical services.

Also appointed a partner in the Life Sciences practice, Verena Ahnert advises a wide range of clients in the biopharmaceutical, diagnostics and research tool sectors. She has extensive experience related to long-term growth strategies, commercialisation, revenue forecasting and valuation and new product expansion opportunities, with particular interest in pricing and market access strategies.

Ahnert started her career at L.E.K. Consulting in Germany, where she across a five year tenure delivered numerous projects for healthcare companies, and contributed to over 30 commercial due diligence projects for private equity clients. In 2004 she left the firm to work for AVA Consulting, a consultancy dedicated to the life sciences industry, and re-joined L.E.K. Consulting some ten years later in London.

Becrom Basu focuses on clients in the transport, travel and new mobility sectors, leading projects in aviation, surface transport (rail, bus, ferry) and new mobility (new business models, electrification, car sharing and connectivity). He advises companies in these sectors on topics ranging from strategy and strategy execution to mergers & acquisitions, transformation and performance improvement.

Prior to joining L.E.K. Consulting in 2005, Basu obtained an MBA at INSEAD and worked at Eurocontrol, the European agency for air traffic management, and held managerial positions at various corporations and startups.

A partner in L.E.K. Consulting’s Life Sciences practice, Anne Dhulesia advises clients on a wide range of assignments in the sector (from drugs to outsourcing of primary and secondary processes), including strategy, the identification of business development opportunities, business plan development, market potential assessments and performance improvement.

Dhulesia, who holds a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from London Business School, has been with L.E.K. Consulting her entire professional career. She also has a track record in dealmaking, providing support to transactions by strategics and financial investors in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.

The sixth new partner, Matthew Gordon, has been hired externally and appointed as L.E.K. Consulting’s Chief Financial Officer, overseeing its finance operations across its 20-strong global office footprint. He joined the consultancy from Cloudreach, a cloud technology group backed by Blackstone, where he was Chief Financial Officer.

He has over 20 years of experience in finance roles in publicly listed, privately held and private equity-backed businesses, and previously held Chief Financial Officer roles at PA Consulting Group, a global consulting firm with 3,200 staff, and Mapeley, a Guernsey based property outsourcing group. Gordon trained as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte, working four years in its Audit wing.

The appointments are effective January 1, 2020 and are part of a broader intake of 19 new partners worldwide.
