PwC merges St Albans and Uxbridge teams in new Watford office

PwC has installed Partner Caroline Bevan as its Office Senior Partner for the firm’s new North of London office. The locale is designed to bring together PwC's St Albans and Uxbridge teams, and will be located in Watford.

The last year has seen PwC commit to a nationwide reshuffle of its resources to ensure its UK firm is well-positioned to help clients in a period of uncertainty. In June 2019, for example, the firm formally opened its new Bradford office, with a ceremony attended by the business community and local politicians – a move which will create approximately 225 jobs in the coming years.

While this campaign has broadly focused on areas beyond the nation’s capital, however, PwC has also been working to restructure its operations closer to London. The latest move in this regard has seen the Big Four accounting and advisory group launch a combined North of London area presence.

PwC launches new North of London office with key appointment

The PwC North of London office will bring together PwC’s St Albans and Uxbridge teams, and will be located in Watford. With the new office comes new leadership: Chris Maw – leader of the Uxbridge office – and David Walters – Office Senior Partner for St Albans – have both retired, and replaced by Caroline Bevan.

PwC South East Regional Leader Keith Harrington stated, “I’m really pleased to welcome Caroline to our South East leadership team, demonstrating our continued commitment to strengthening our South East practice. At PwC we have been investing in our regional offices to adapt to changing business climates. Growth across the South East is strong, and we must continue to provide the best possible solutions and services to our clients, helping to solve the most important challenges facing our region.”

PwC now has more than 10,000 UK employees based outside London, with 2,000 based across the South East, and Bevan will now preside over the single unified office. The 24 year company veteran has a background in privately owned businesses and tax – and held the rank of Partner in St Albans prior to her promotion.

Commenting on her new role, Bevan said, “I’m delighted to join our fantastic new North of London team. I am looking forward to working alongside the local business communities and providing new solutions for our clients. The wider market environment is dynamic and changing, and it is important we constantly adapt to meet the needs and expectations of our clients. This is an exciting opportunity for us, and I’m looking forward to being part of one of the most diverse regions in the UK.”
