The Retail Performance Company has become a training partner of automotive association IMI, following in the footsteps of dozens of well-established consulting and training firms.

Founded in 1920, the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) is UK’s professional body for the motor industry. The association helps players in the automotive sector with professionalisation, including setting, upholding and promoting professional standards, and serves as the voice of the sector towards politics and media.

As part of its career support offering to its constituency, the IMI works with more than 500 approved centres to support the skills of over 100,000 young and adult learners each year. These external organisations span schools, academies, colleges, employers, vehicle manufacturers and training providers – all contributing to IMI’s learning and development offer.

The latest firm to join IMI’s approved centre ranks is The Retail Performance Company, a consulting firm with 370 employees across operations in 10 countries. Its roots are firmly grounded in automotive; the consultancy was formed as a joint venture with BMW Group and Germany-based h&z Management Consultancy.

The Retail Performance Company works, not surprisingly, for BMW Group supporting its retail organisation, but also the likes of Allianz, Braun, Nespresso, Osram, T-Mobile and Vodafone. “We help companies and brands with their customer-oriented transformations: from strategy, via customer experience design, training, coaching, talent management and qualification to data analytics,” said Christian Feilmeier, managing director of The Retail Performance Company.

Commenting on the addition of the consulting firm, Steve Nash, CEO of the IMI said, “We are really pleased to partner with The Retail Performance Company. Their industry-fit is great.”

Jasmine Perera, a leader at The Retail Performance Company in UK, unpacked on the firm’s plans with IMI. “We are extremely excited with the opportunity to offer our extensive automotive experience. As a first contribution, we are delighted to launch with our innovative and pioneering Social Selling training programme as a Professional Achievement Certificate.”

Created in partnership with DLA Ignite, the Social Selling Training is a professional sales enhancement programme for both management and sales staff. Those that complete the training are equipped to bolster revenues and margins, at a time when high levels of competition, costs and incentives are eroding margins in the value chain.
