Entec Si director wins Business Woman of the Year award
Eman Al-Hillawi, co-founder of fast-growing UK consultancy Entec Si, has picked up the Business Woman of the Year Award for firms of under 50 people at the English Women’s Awards. The news comes at the end of a year of major growth for Entec Si.
The English Women’s Awards are a relatively new fixture in the UK’s business calendar, but they are already drawing fierce competition. Having already hosted an event for the North of the UK earlier in the year, Creative Oceanic – the group behind the awards – has hosted a second ceremony in Birmingham, celebrating female talent from the Midlands to the South.
Irfan Younis, CEO of Creative Oceanic, said of the event, “We’re delighted to bring the Women’s Awards back to England for the second year, and are sure this year will provide its fair share of brilliant talent and inspiration. Best of luck to all finalists, we look forward to celebrating with you on the night.”
One of the women celebrated on the night was Eman Al-Hillawi. The Co-founder and Director of Entec Si, a Birmingham-based consulting firm, was nominated for Business Woman of the Year for firms of fewer than 50 staff. The judging panel was impressed with her contribution to the business’ commercial success, dedication to people development and engagement with local communities – all of which led to Al-Hillawi scooping the prize.
Speaking to Consultancy.uk in November, Al-Hillawi commented on the firm’s social approach to business: “Given our people-focused approach, it goes without saying that we feel passionately about giving back to the community. Personally, I feel that we can make a huge difference by supporting young and vulnerable people; the next generation in our society… When it comes to supporting local causes, we’re not afraid to get our hands dirty – as our team recently proved by helping Kings Heath charity, Thrive, to transform their outdoor space!”
The accolade follows her win at the Institute of Directors Awards earlier this year, where she walked away with the title of Director of the Year (West Midlands, SME category). Entec Si was also shortlisted for Social Media Marketer of the Year 2019 at the City of Birmingham Business Awards, for its creative use of social channels.
2019 has proven to be a landmark year for Entec Si in terms of team growth, too. In August, a quadruple contract win saw the firm reach its target of 30% expansion during the latest financial year. Meanwhile, Entec Si completed seven hires across its business, including Senior Project Manager Parminder Bahia, Project Coordinator Jenna Crompton, and Business Analyst Jack Considine. A further four hires will join the company in the coming months.
Commenting on a stellar year for the consultancy, Al-Hillawi said, “The last 12 months have been the most successful yet for our Entec family. Birmingham is a brilliant place to run a business, and it’s been an honour to have our hard work recognised within the local marketplace. We’ve gained several talented new team members and have secured a number of significant new contracts. There is no doubt that Entec Si’s continued success is testament to our skilled team and fantastic clients and we look forward to continuing this with further growth in 2020.”
