EY expands SAP consulting capabilities with AgilityWorks deal
Big Four firm EY has acquired AgilityWorks, deepening its SAP consulting capabilities in the UK, as well as in Portugal and India.
“This acquisition expands our capabilities and accelerates the growth of our technology consulting services,” said Stuart Orr, who leads EY Advisory in the UK & Ireland.
The acquisition comes half a year after EY bolstered its SAP consulting division in Asia with the bolt-on of Plaut IT, in a move that added 130 technology and ERP experts to its footprint.
Founded in 2007, AgilityWorks helps organisations design and execute digital business transformations based on SAP technology. In recent years the Oxford-headquartered company built a strong track record in the S/4HANA suite, which is SAP’s latest generation of its cloud-powered enterprise resource planning solution. Its approach for working with clients is grounded in agile – which is why "Agility" was included in its brand name.
As part to the integration, AgilityWorks and its roughly 150 staff will join EY’s SAP practice in the UK & Ireland, with the firm rebranded as ‘EY AgilityWorks’. The operations in Portugal and India will join the local EY organisations in Lisbon and Gurgaon respectively, but report to EY AgilityWorks in the UK.
EY AgilityWorks is led by Alan Hunt, previously Managing Director of AgilityWorks, while leaders Matt Riches and Sameer Shah have joined EY as partners.
Orr said, “The EY AgilityWorks’ team will help us provide our clients with a modern SAP service model and meet the growing demand for advice we are seeing in this area.” According to a study by analyst firm IDC, EY is one of the globe’s frontrunners in SAP consulting and implementation, having been named a leader in its latest assessment.
Two weeks ago, EY also purchased Aleron, a cybersecurity consultancy based in Australia.
