Andrew Probert joins transaction practice of Duff & Phelps

Global advisory firm Duff & Phelps has expanded its UK transaction advisory services practice with the appointment of Andrew Probert as Managing Director. Probert brings more than 20 years of experience to the role, having previously worked at both EY and PwC.

Duff & Phelps is a global consulting firm which specialises in restructuring and corporate recovery services. Having diversified substantially, however, the firm also works with clients in the areas of valuation, corporate finance, investigations, disputes, cyber security, compliance and regulatory matters, and other governance-related issues. Duff & Phelps has enjoyed rapid growth across its service lines in recent times, and in order to keep up with demand, it has committed to enhancing its team with new expertise.

In order to bolster its transaction advisory offering, Duff & Phelps has announced that Andrew Probert has joined the firm as a Managing Director in the practice, based in London. Probert will lead on the firm’s global accounting structuring offering, providing support on all types of transactions including: acquisitions and divestitures; refinancings; restructurings; minority interests; and joint ventures across a variety of industries and geographies.

He brings more than 20 years of experience working on a variety of projects to support a range of corporate transactions, and is a subject matter expert on IFRS 3 (Business Combinations); IFRS 10 (Consolidated Financial Statements); IAS 32 and 39; and IFRS 9 (Financial instruments). Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Probert was an Associate Partner at EY, where he focused on designing optimal deal structures and delivering deal value for a wide range of clients and industries. Prior to this, he spent over 14 years with EY’s Big Four rival PwC.

In August, Duff & Phelps also bolstered its debt and transaction advisory arms with two senior appointments. Jacco Brouwer and Paul Martin joined Duff & Phelps, with over 50 years of experience between them.
