Neste selects Capgemini as its main ICT services partner
Capgemini has signed a deal with Finnish renewable energy refinery Neste to deliver its ICT services. The agreement will involve both front end services, as well as business process optimisation through leveraging data generated through its services toward improved processes. The multi-million euro deal is set to last five years.
Neste was founded in 1948 in Finland as a petroleum refinery for the state. The company produces a range of biofuels and is the world’s largest producer of renewable diesel. It uses a number of different raw materials to produce the biofuel and is actively engaged in developing new technologies to produce biofuels. Its refined goods are sold through a captive marketing channel of 1,000 stations in Finland, Northwest Russia, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Neste has more than 5,000 employees and revenue stood at €15 billion in 2014.
To deliver its ICT services, Neste hired Capgemini. The consulting firm will offer the company its service offerings, including its Service Integration and Management (SIAM), End-User Productivity Services and End-User Support, through the Intelligent Service Centre. This allows Neste to get a centralised view of all helpdesk service requests by its end users.
The deal will also see Capgemini leverage data generated from its service to improve business process within Neste through service metrics. These metrics are set to be analysed, for among others, decreasing the number of incidents as well as improving the time taken to service user requests.
“Through this contract, Neste will move to modern, cost efficient ICT services, with the service production focusing on business needs even more than before,” explains Tommi Tuovila, CIO of Neste. “Capgemini’s business centric solutions, such as the Intelligent Service Centre, and their strong culture of collaboration make them the right partner to support us on our way forward.”
“We are delighted that Neste chose Capgemini as their new main ICT partner,” adds Petteri Uljas, CEO of Capgemini´s Infrastructure Services in Northern Europe. “This is the beginning of a new, longstanding relationship. […] With our solutions, Neste is able to focus on its core business and is helped to maximise its total cost of ownership savings, while the end-users benefit from an enhanced service experience.”
