Libra Europe partners with homelessness charity Centrepoint
Libra Europe Consulting has announced a new partnership with homelessness charity Centrepoint in the UK. The consultancy will now spend the coming 12 months raising funds for the organisation, which helps young people sleeping rough access shelter and support.
According to homeless charity Crisis, there are an estimated 12,300 rough sleepers in the UK, as well as an added 12,000 people sleeping in sheds, bins, cars, tents and night busses. The figures derived from research by Heriot-Watt University suggest rough sleeping has risen by 98% since 2010, while sleeping in tents and the like rose 103%.
Centrepoint is the UK's leading youth homelessness charity, and together with its partners the group supports over 15,000 young people every year. More than 400 staff work for Centrepoint across the country, made up of front-line workers based in hostels, counsellors and health supporters. In order to support Centrepoint with its mission, Libra Europe Consulting has announced that it will be working with the organization as its UK charity partner.
Tim Kershaw, Chief Executive Officer, Libra Europe Consulting, said of the news, “I believe that everyone has a role to play in helping those who have found it difficult to make their way in society. Centrepoint’s focus on young people facing challenges, with which we would all struggle, is a fantastic cause and I am glad that we able to contribute to their work.”
Libra Europe Consulting will waste no time in getting the ball rolling for its support efforts, either. The firm will be participating in various fundraising events throughout the year ranging from ‘The Big Sleep Out’ in Manchester in November to running events across the country – but it all begins with the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on 21st September. Taking on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough – all in under 12 hours – a team led by Managing Partner Bob Heward will join Centrepoint on one of the most picturesque challenges in the country.
