Financial services consultancy Parker Fitzgerald has handed four women at the UK wing of the firm promotions in their respective fields. Kuangyi Wei, Vanessa Boss, Catherine Morris and Desre Sheen take on leadership roles in strategy, operations, advisory and transformation, respectively.

Founded in 2009, Parker Fitzgerald is a management consulting and implementation partner to some of the world’s leading financial institutions. Headquartered in London, the firm’s global network of senior industry practitioners, technical experts and change specialists offer services in all areas of financial and non-financial risk, regulation and financial technology.

The firm is a strategic partner to regulatory bodies including the Bank of England and its industry engagement demonstrates a strong affiliation with industry groups and risk organisations. Because of this, Parker Fitzgerald’s work has been acknowledged by a number of industry awards groups. The firm scooped Best New Consultancy at the 2019 MCA Awards in London, two years after it picked up Consultancy of the Year at the Operational Risk Awards 2017.

Now, the consultancy has further boosted its UK wing, announcing four appointments to key leadership positions within the company. The appointments come at the top of the firm’s transformation, advisory, operations and strategy lines.

Desre Sheen has been appointed as Managing Director for Transformation, having joined Parker Fitzgerald as a Partner just over one year ago. Prior to her time with the firm, Sheen spent 25 years in the banking sector, working with NedBank in Johannesburg before spending the best part of two decades with UBS in London and the US.

Catherine Morris has been promoted to Managing Director for Advisory. She has more than 23 years’ experience working for major global financial institutions, forming expertise in anti-money laundering, client onboarding and KYC in that time. Before joining Parker Fitzgerald in 2018, she spent eight years in financial crime risk management advisory with Big Four firm EY.

Vanessa Boss has been appointed to the role of Executive Director for Operations, in the latest chapter of an eight-year stay with Parker Fitzgerald. She became Global Operations Director at the firm in 2018, holding that role alongside a Client Services Director position she had occupied since 2013. Boss holds a First Class Honours Fitness Science and Physiology BSc from the University of Greenwich.

Kuangyi Wei will meanwhile take on the position of Executive Director for Strategy, following two years at Parker Fitzgerald. She joined the firm from IT management consultancy Accenture, where she was a Principal in the Accenture Institute for High Performance. She also briefly served as an Economist at Chatham House, working to deliver economic research consultancy for government officials and senior diplomats, such as the Chinese Embassy in the UK.

Commenting on the quartet of promotions, Scott Vincent, CEO of Parker Fitzgerald stated, “These appointments highlight the exceptional value all four have brought to the Parker Fitzgerald. Their continued hard work and dedication is recognised across the company and by our clients. As senior leaders within the firm, they are entrusted with upholding our values, beliefs and professional standards. The quartet will play a critical role in the development of our people at all levels of the organisation, helping lead the way in championing diversity.”

Last year, Parker Fitzgerald opened an international office in Sydney, Australia. The company also announced the appointment of Jeremy Scott, formerly the Global Chairman of PwC’s Financial Services practice, to lead its growing business in Asia Pacific.
