Nokia renews outsourcing contract with Capgemini

Capgemini will, for another five years, deliver order management services for Nokia Networks. The deal is an extension on its 2010 contract to deliver preparation for delivery, customer order management, distribution and customer invoicing, using its Global Enterprise Model (GEM) and innovative BPOpen platform.

Nokia Networks (NN), formally Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN), is a network infrastructure software, hardware and services provider and a wholly owned subsidiary of Nokia Corporation. The company was founded in 2007 as a joint venture between Nokia and Siemens, after which Nokia bought out Siemens in 2013. The company is headquartered in Espoo, Finland.

In 2010, NSN hired the subsidiary of Capgemini, Capgemini Outsourcing Services SAS, to support it with order management services. This included the preparation for delivery, customer order management, distribution and customer invoicing, with the more customer-facing activities to remain with NSN. The 2010-deal saw Capgemini engage its ‘Rightshore’ network and its ‘BPOpen’ technology platform to standardise the worldwide operations of NSN.

As the contract was set for five years, NN recently re-hired Capgemini for another five years with a contract ending in October 2020. The deal will see Capgemini continue to unify NN’s operations through its Supply Chain Management Business Process Outsourcing capabilities including its Global Enterprise Model (GEM) and BPOpen platform.

“We are very pleased to continue and deepen our relationship with Capgemini building on a successful Supply Chain transformation partnership initiated in 2010, which has resulted in cost optimisation, quality enhancement and global process harmonisation,” comments Johannes Giloth, Senior Vice President Global Operations at Nokia Networks. “We recognise Capgemini as Supply Chain experts and look forward to developing our relationship into new areas to support our business growth.”

Christopher Stancombe, CEO Business Process Outsourcing at Capgemini, adds: “We are delighted with the contract renewal with Nokia, one of our key Business Process Outsourcing customers globally. We have a strong relationship with Nokia and are proud to be providing them with world class Supply Chain Business Process Outsourcing services to help drive and enhance Nokia's business productivity and growth.”
