Capita acquires IT solutions specialist Pervasive
Capita has acquired IT solutions specialist Pervasive, strengthening its Technology Solutions division with mobility services offerings, as well as improving the division’s expertise in wireless networking, storage, computing and security.
Pervasive is a wireless networks integrator that provides mobility managed services to a wide client base in a range of sectors, including higher education, local government and health services. The company is a partner in Europe, Middle East and Africa for networking provider Aruba Networks which has recently been acquired by HP. The Berkshire-based holding company Pervasive, comprising Pervasive Networks (founded in 1997) and Beovax Computer Services (founded in 1994) employs 76 people at offices in among others, Newbury and Manchester.
Capita reports that the new acquisition will operate from within its Capita IT Enterprise Services which sits within the firm’s wider Technology Solutions division. The addition of Pervasive will further enhance the Technology Solutions division’s available services, related particularly to mobility, while also further deepening the division’s expertise in wireless networking, storage, computing and security.
Commenting on the deal, Peter Hands, Executive Director at Capita IT Enterprise Services, says: “We are continuing to see a shift in working habits with the increased use of mobile devices, requiring flexible technology that enables employees to enhance productivity. Pervasive has a strong record of providing wireless networks to clients across multiple sectors, offering the agility to respond to changing customer requirements.”
This is not the first acquisition to Capita’s Technology Solutions division, having recently also acquired data storage specialist Solid State Solutions (S3) and IT security reseller Network Technology Solutions (NTS).
