Great Place to Work Institute has unveiled the 2015-edition of its best employers in Europe ranking. NetApp can call itself the best multinational employer, Davidson is Europe’s best large workplace, with Cygni according to the jury the best small & medium organisation to work for.

Every year in more than 40 countries around the world, including the UK, the Great Place to Work Institute runs independent empirical examination into the perception of an organisations’ employees, thereby disclosing which firms are a Great Place to Work. The research is based on feedback from employees, highlighting satisfaction over their job and workplace, and information from HR functions, revealing among others the quality of HR policies, workplace processes and company culture.

Based on the reviews of more than 2.000 organisations in 19 different member states, the Great Place to Work Institute has released a list of the best European workplaces, across three categories: multinationals, large workplaces and small & medium workplaces. The in total 100 companies that have made the prestigious list represent according to the jury the crème-de-la-crème under employers, and stand out for having created a consistent, high-trust workplace culture.

The ranking is led by Cygni, a Swedish IT services firm, followed by Key Solutions, Vincit and Conscia, all three also based in Scandinavia. &samhoud, a Netherlands-based consulting which ranked 1st in the national edition of the Great Place to Work ranking, finds itself on the fifth spot. Edwin Winter, partner at the firm, reflects: “I am extremely pleased with the recognition. Employee satisfaction stands at the heart of our business. This translates into better performance and results.” Salem Samhoud, who founded the firm in 1989, says that he is “proud of the acknowledgment”, adding “we firmly believe that sustainable value creation starts with care for your own employees.”

The UK is home to 100+ leading consulting firms. New analysis reveals the 10 consulting companies that rank as the best industry employers to work for. 

The list of top consultancy employers is based on the views and opinions of employees who were surveyed by The Sunday Times about their experience of their firm’s leadership, workplace environment, development opportunities, wellbeing, pay, benefits and commitment to social responsibility. In the large consulting firms category, two of the Big Four – EY and Deloitte – and Accenture stand out from the rest. Seven other consultancies made the prestigious cut, all of which are small to mid-sized players in the consulting industry.
