FTI Consulting expands Economic Consulting in EMEA
FTI Consulting has recently announced the expansion of its Economic Consulting segment in the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) with a team in South Africa to meet the growing market demand in Africa. The new service offering will be led by John Lisle, a Managing Director of the firm.
FTI Consulting is an in 1982 founded consulting firm dedicated to “helping organisations protect and enhance enterprise value.” Its 4,400 employees, located in 26 countries, are specialised in complex business challenges such as investigations, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues, reputation management, strategic communications and restructuring.
In 2005, the firm established its presence in South Africa, with the acquisition of strategic communications firms Beachhead Media & Investor Relations. Its teams in Johannesburg and Cape Town offer a full spectrum of communications advice to clients in, among others, the Banking & Financial Services, Energy & Utilities, Information Technology, Healthcare, and Transportation sectors.
Economic Consulting Segment
To accommodate the growing market demand across the African continent, FTI Consulting decided to expand its Economic Consulting segment with an EMEA presence in South Africa. The new service offering will complement the existing Strategic Communications services and offer FTI’s clients domestic and international dispute resolution services and advice in connection with economic regulation.
“As a global leader in the provision of accounting and economic expert witness services, FTI Consulting aims to have a presence in major markets, including Africa, whose economies are expanding rapidly and are increasingly identified as a destination for investment. Simultaneously, the growing maturity of these markets is being accompanied by increasingly sophisticated approaches to economic regulation. Our clients both locally and globally, wanted us there and we are responding. We look forward to growing with Africa,” explains Chris Osborne, Co-Chairman of FTI Consulting’s EMEA region.
The new South African Economic Consulting team will be led by John Lisle, a Managing Director of FTI Consulting, who will split his time between the Johannesburg and Cape Town offices. Lisle has been with the firm since 2011 and is specialised in the assessment of damages, the application of financial and economic analysis, and in providing advice in the context of investigations by competition authorities.
Commenting on his new role, Lisle says: “On both a professional and a personal level I am delighted to lead the expansion of our Economic Consulting service offering into South Africa. The local and regional markets are developing at great pace and FTI Consulting is able to provide the highest quality advice based on our global expertise and experience. We are looking forward to developing long-lasting relationships with clients, both large and small, in the years to come.”
