Derbyshire engineering consultancy appoints new General Manager
Structural Design Associates has appointed a new General Manager to its team, as the East Midlands based consultancy looks to expand in 2019. Mark Muckle will take on the role following 20 years of experience in the global engineering sector.
UK based civil and structural consultancy Structural Design Associates provides clients with a wide range of expert design and assessment services. Customers of the firm include architects, developers, industrial and commercial outfits. Founded in 1999, in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, the firm’s expertise encompasses all-new and existing building and civil structures, as well as historical and conservation work.
The firm was acquired by Integrated Food Projects last year, when it launched a new service engineering division to advise clients within the food and beverage industry. As the civil and structural engineering consultancy looks to continue its growth and vision of further expansion into 2019, it has completed a new appointment to its team.
The addition of Mark Muckle, who will take on the role of General Manager at the firm, is aimed at increasing Structural Design’s engineering expertise. Joining the firm in the new role, Muckle brings more than 20 years of experience, having previously run his own practice, Artwicar Consulting Engineers in Buffalo City, South Africa for 14 years. During his time on the Eastern Cape Province, he took on the roles of Senior Project Manager and Engineer, before being made Managing Director.
Commenting on the new role, Muckle remarked, “I really admire SDA’s client retention rate, it really is a testament to the trust our clients have placed in the company. A big focus within my new role will be to continue development of the current clients, whilst also focussing on growing the wider customer base within the food and drink industry. I am excited to work on several new food and beverage schemes in the New Year. At the moment we are planning ahead for 2019, where I will be offering advice in devising a new marketing strategy, revamping the social media channels and improving the current website.”
Looking forward to the New Year, Phillip Chatfield, Managing Director of Integrated Food Projects said, “We are looking forward to making a start on our strategic plans for SDA, which include a vision to expand across the Midlands, double our current operation and pave the way for more talented engineers and consultants. Mark will form an integral part of this plan as we enter the New Year.”
