McKinsey partner Peter Slagt joins Bain & Company in UK
Global management consultancy Bain & Company has added Peter Slagt to its UK partner team. Slagt joins from counterpart McKinsey & Company, where he served as partner for more than 15 years. At Bain, Slagt bolsters the firm’s Results Delivery Practice and will focus on supporting companies develop and execute strategies to increase the success of their large-scale business transformations.
Peter Slagt has more than 20 years of experience in the consulting industry. Prior to joining the sector he was a Royal Dutch Navy career officer for 10 years. In 1993 he joined McKinsey & Company in Amsterdam, and has since grown through the ranks, appointed partner in 2000. During his spell at the consultancy, Slagt led numerous large-scale corporate global transformational assignments focused on strategy execution, business transformation and change management, and he has done this throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa, and across companies across multiple industries.
In recent years Slagt played a leading role in McKinsey’s EMEA Organisation practice, first serving as head of the Benelux region (2007 – 2011), and latterly as head of Africa and Northern Europe.
After more than 21 years with McKinsey, Slagt has decided to take on a new challenge. He remains faithful to the consulting industry, joining Bain & Company in the UK, and from the firm’s base in London (located at Strand in the heart of the City) Slagt will lead engagements in the area of among others business, leadership, operations and change management. In addition, Slagt will internally be tasked with building the capability within Bain's consulting teams to support clients to manage change and deliver programmes effectively.

Up to not so long ago Richard Jackson, co-head of Bain’s M&A practice for the EMEA region, was also part of the UK partner team, he however transferred to Bain’s Dutch practice in October last year. A selection of the current partner team of Bain UK:
Across the North Sea, Bain & Company – recognised as one of Europe’s most prestigious management consulting firms – has of late also attracted high-profile partners from its tier-1 rivals. The US-origin strategy consultancy for example in Q1 hired Melanie Bockemühl from BCG and Daniel Milleg from Oliver Wyman, with both partners strengthening Bain’s German practice.
