Q5 partners with student consultants of 180 Degrees Consulting
A volunteer-run student consultancy has announced a new partnership between its branch at the University of Bath and Q5 Partners. The firm will help 180 Degrees Consulting with its work for clients in the social enterprise world.
180 Degrees Consulting is a student-run consulting firm with operations in more than 30 countries and branches at over 80 leading universities. It is the world’s largest volunteer consultancy, and works primarily for non-profits and social enterprises. 180 Degrees Consulting works with established consulting firms, and has forged partnerships with a number of firms, most recently including Sia Partners in Belgium, to mentor and coach students throughout their consulting engagements.
Now, the organisation’s branch at the University of Bath has announced another new partnership. In a bid to deepen its ties with ambitious students, Q5 Partners will now partner with 180 Degrees. Similarly, the partnership will see Q5 help 180 Degrees deliver valuable advice around organisational design and development to their clients in the social enterprise world.
Launched by four friends wanting to change the way things were done in the traditional consulting industry, Q5 first opened for business in 2009. The group thought they could help businesses better respond to the challenges confronting them, benefitting them beyond the four quarters of the financial year, into the fifth quarter, or 'Q5', which the company derives its name from. The consultancy works for clients across several industries, providing media, financial services, retail, professional services and government consulting services.
Earlier in 2018, Q5 was named a top boutique management consultancy to work for in the UK by The Sunday Times. According to data collected from the firm’s workforce, 100% of Q5 staff agreed people in their team go out of their way to help them. At the same time, Q5 embraces innovative mechanisms including global ‘espresso’ video calls, Slack, WhatsApp, Google Hangouts and a monthly team meeting outside the office.
In a statement on LinkedIn, Q5 said of the new relationship, “We're delighted to be partnering with 180 Degrees Consulting, the world's largest student-driven volunteer consultancy. We look forward to working with the Bath, England branch.”
