Tomorrow the 18th edition of the MCA Awards will take place. In total 30 different consulting firms have been nominated, with PwC the runaway leader to scoop the largest number of awards. The accounting and consulting giant has received 18 nominations, respectively five and four more than Big Four rivals EY and KPMG.

Every year the MCA organises the ‘MCA Awards’, a ceremony that recognises best practice performance within the UK consulting industry. The awards has 14 project categories, six individual categories and two overall awards – Project of the Year and Consultant of the Year. New this year is the Thought Leadership category, a testimony to the growing importance of eminence within the industry.

With 18 nominations, significantly more than key Big Four rivals EY, KPMG and Deloitte, PwC can name itself the clear favourite for taking home the largest number of awards. “It’s a huge vote of confidence that we had so many individuals and projects short listed this year”, comments Ashley Unwin, PwC’s Consulting Leader in the UK. Eight nominations are in the individual categories: Ruth Morgan and Georgina Cox are elected in the ‘Change Management Consultant of the Year’ category, while Richard Crofton and Sean Mahdi feature in the ‘Performance Improvement Consultant of the Year’ and ‘Digital & Technology Consultant of the Year’ categories. Two young advisors – David Lurie and Hussein Hadid – have been selected in the ‘Young Consultant of the Year’, while Juliet Stuttard strives for the prestigious title in the ‘Human Resources’ and Grant Saggers represents PwC in the ‘Strategy Consultant’ category.
