Capco's London office named one of the coolest places to work in UK
Ten offices have been named the coolest places to work in the UK. Among those lauded for their work in enriching the working day of their employees, Capco has been marked out for praise by its staff on numerous fronts.
For many people, the majority of their working lives are spent in offices. As a result, with an increasingly competitive HR market seeing companies prioritise multiple different tactics to entice new staff to their firm, having a vibrant and relaxing workplace has become an increasingly essential aspect of modern business. In order to show which firms are performing best on this front, and promote best practices to other employers, career platform Glassdoor runs an annual survey to find the “coolest” places to work in the UK.
While last year the list returned no entries from the consulting industry, 2018 has seen Capco named among the ten places considered the coolest to work in by employees. The firm’s Shoreditch offices are housed in renovated loft building. The consultancy hosts an array of roles in the space, ranging from Senior Consultants, or Programme and Product Management, to Business Analysts, and Next Generation Technology Consultants.
According to employees, the location possesses a modern, open-concept paired with rustic touches, such as exposed brick and wood. On top of this, the space has a recreation area, as well as a pool table and retro games.
Commenting on the office, one current employee told Glassdoor, "I have worked for Capco for over five years. It is a great place to grow your career. The management will invest time in you and help you develop. I work with some fantastic people and enjoy the team ethos and entrepreneurial spirit that runs through the company. You will be backed 100 percent in everything you do."
Across the wider Glassdoor platform, employees at Capco also spoke positively of their employer on a range of issues. These included career fast track and long term growth opportunities, and the firm’s stance on being an equal opportunity employer.
One said, "Excellent team, and even brighter future… Projects are at industry leading companies. The caliber of talent steepens your own growth trajectory, as you are surrounded by passionate, bright, people with deep domain knowledge and technical expertise.”
Capco only regained its independence as a consulting brand in 2017, following a private equity buyout of the firm from its previous owner. Since then, the global management consultancy which focuses on financial services work has been named for a succession of Glassdoor accolades, including being among the top 50 places to work, and having one of the top 40 CEOs, both in 2018.
The other companies praised for their ‘coolness’ by Glassdoor were Dr Martens, Reward Gateway, Ovo Energy, ASOS, The Engine Group, Unilever, Frank PR, Gamesys, Skyscanner, and Mitie.
