Incremental boosts headcount to 125 with Gap Consulting purchase
Scottish consultancy Incremental has acquired English firm Gap for an undisclosed fee. The transaction sees Incremental significantly boost its headcount across the UK, as well as bolstering its expertise in the realms of ERM and CRM work.
A growing number of mid-market consultancies have made the trip north of the border, with the likes of BJSS and fellow IT solutions firm Watersons both looking to grow their businesses beyond England. Now, a consultancy based in Scotland has made the reverse journey – completing an acquisition for an English firm.
Glasgow headquartered Incremental is a digital technology consulting firm launched in late 2016, founded by a group of Scottish technology industry executives. It is backed by venture capitalist Maven Capital and Scottish Investment Bank, with support from Clydesdale Bank. It counts BP, Total, Aggreko, Scottish Leather Group and The Scottish Government among its client base.Incremental is pursuing a major expansion campaign, and opened a Manchester office earlier in 2018. As the group chases a targeted £60 million in revenue by 2022, Incremental has purchased Cheshire-based consulting firm Gap, for an undisclosed fee. The acquisition lifts Incremental’s overall headcount to 125 across its three main sites in Glasgow, Inverurie and Northwich in Cheshire supported by sales offices in London and Manchester, while also boosting the group’s expertise in the health, professional services and not-for-profit sectors.
Founded in 1999, Gap is the largest specialist Microsoft CRM practice in the UK, addressing varied, often complex challenges of cross-industry customers. The firm is staffed by highly experienced workers who are Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement certified. While Incremental is already a Microsoft Gold enterprise resource planning (ERP) partner Gap is a customer relationship management (CRM) partner for the software giant.
Neil Logan, chief executive and co-founder of Incremental Group, said, “Gap Consulting is a great fit for Incremental, we now have a wider UK coverage to build from and an even stronger team in place to help both government and industry undertake the kind of digital transformation that is required by every organisation that needs to optimise operations and remain competitive.”
“The team at Gap brings deep expertise in CRM and together with our own skill set, we are excited about the opportunities ahead as we continue to make significant inroads in the commercial and public sectors.” He added, “while we are seeing a strong pipeline of organic growth over the next couple of years, we will continue to evaluate potential targets to identify value accretive acquisitions.”
