Mike Pearson new Sales & Marketing Director Helios
Helios recently announced the appointment of airport and aviation veteran Mike Pearson as its Sales & Marketing Director. Pearson’s role will be to grow Helios’ presence within the aviation industry worldwide.
Mike Pearson joins Helios with 17 years of experience in the aviation industry, most recently gained while working as Airports Director at Atkins, a role he fulfilled for almost six years. Between 2003 and 2009, he worked at BAA, where he held a number of key roles, including Programme Leader, responsible for developing proposals, and Head of Facilities Planning, holding responsibility for airport facility planning across the then seven BAA airports. Pearson started his career as Airport Planner, first at Atkins for two years, from 1997 to 1990, subsequently at Mott MacDonald for another two and finally as Senior Planner Airport at TPS Consult for three years, before joining BAA.
Pearson holds a BA in International Relations & History from Queens University and an MSc in Airport Planning & Engineering from Loughborough University.
As Sales & Marketing Director at management and technology firm Helios, Pearson will be responsible for growing the firm’s presence worldwide in the aviation market, overseeing Helios’ business development activities. He will be based at Helios’ Farnborough UK head office and will also manage sales and marketing at Helios offices in Slovakia and the UAE. “Mike brings valuable know - how to Helios and will be an asset to the management team. He will add extra depth to our expertise in airports consulting, working alongside our own Director of Airports, Steve Leighton. He also has direct experience leading high profile projects and running airports in some of our highest growth markets – the Middle East and Central and Eastern Europe. We are delighted to have him on board,” remarks Nick McFarlane, Helios Managing Director, on the appointment.
