Legal expert to lead Baker Tilly Restructuring team
Baker Tilly appointed legal expert Ian Williams as Director in its Restructuring and Recovery service line. The addition of Williams will, according to the firm, play a key role in Baker Tilly’s ambition to grow its restructuring and recovery service offering.
Ian Williams joins the accounting and consulting firm from UK law firm SGH Martineau and has over 25 years’ experience as solicitor. At SGH Martineau he specialised in in international corporate recovery cases. During his career, Williams completed two terms as Vice President for International Affairs of the American Bankruptcy Institute and one term as Director of INSOL.
As Director of Baker Tilly’s Restructuring and Recovery team, Williams will take on an advisory role to lead and expand the firm’s offering to international clients. Commenting on the appointment, Graham Bushby, National Head of Restructuring and Recovery at Baker Tilly, says: “Ian is a legal professional with a vast amount of experience in international insolvency matters. His skills and knowledge will play a pivotal role in the growth of Baker Tilly’s offering in this area, and I look forward to working with him.”
According to the firm, Williams’ hiring follows the announcement that Baker Tilly joined RSM International and is the second senior appointment in Baker Tilly’s recovery department in a short time span. Just recently, the firm added Phillip Sykes as the new Head of its London Restructuring and Recovery service line.
