RSM has drafted two senior level hires from consulting giant KPMG to its Preston office. Anthony Cox joins as Tax Partner while Andrew Stackhouse joins as Tax Director. The new tax advisors will focus on supporting the firm’s regional clients as well as supporting the team to boost its business and offering.
RSM’s UK arm, known as Baker Tilly until 2015, has announced the recruitment of two senior consultants from Big Four professional services firm KPMG, as the firm bids to strengthen its presence in the region. The new capture will see RSM’s new additions join the Preston office, in the North-West of England.
New Tax Partner Anthony Cox arrives at the firm having worked at KPMG in the role of Tax Director. His more than seventeen year tenure at the company was largely focused on tax advisory services, tackling a broad array of issues across the individual and company segments. Cox, who studied at the University of Leeds, also previously spent four years with Crossley and Davis as a Chartered Accountant, leaving for KPMG in 2000.
Prior to joining RSM as Tax Director, Andrew Stackhouse meanwhile presided over a 12 year tenure at KPMG, latterly as Tax Senior Manager. He previously worked at Deloitte, becoming a Tax Manager during his five years with the accounting and consulting firm, gaining expertise focused primarily in property tax advisory and compliance tax services before moving for rival Big Four firm KPMG in 2004. Stackhouse holds a BA in Law from the University of Manchester.
The additions boost the capacity of RSM’s Preston branch to meet demand as it aims to further consolidate and improve operations for its already existing clients in the region. The new hires will, in addition, be tasked with supporting the team as they work to drum up new business while the firm targets development of new offerings and market expansion.
The office’s Managing Partner, Kevin Duffy, said of Cox and Stackhouse’s appointments, “We continue to invest in our tax practice with key strategic hires, and it's fantastic to welcome Anthony and Andrew to the team. Both are well known Lancashire professionals with extensive experience which will further strengthen our offering – reinforcing RSM’s position as the leading adviser for middle market businesses in the region.”
