Senior advisors from EY and E3 Consulting join BDO and RSM

BDO has appointed Andrew Howson, formerly an Executive Director at EY, as Partner in the firm's Corporate Finance practice. RSM has, meanwhile, appointed Rupert Guppy, formerly a Senior Property Tax Surveyor at E3 Consulting, as an Associate Director in the firm’s Capital Allowances practice.

Prior to joining BDO, Andrew Howson worked at Deloitte and EY in a career spanning 13 years, most recently as an Executive Director in EY's Transaction Advisory Services team. His earlier career was spent at Andersen, where he spent six years, in his final role as Manager in the now defunct firm’s Private Equity Transaction Services team.

Howson holds a Masters in Arts in Psychology from the University of St. Andrews, and also gained credentials as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.

Joining BDO as a Private Equity Partner in the firm’s Corporate Finance practice, Howson brings more than two decades of experience to the firm, including specialisation in, among others, buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence support to private equity investors, financial institutions, multi-nationals and fast-growth businesses. He will be based out of the firm’s London office.

Prior to joining RSM, Rupert Guppy worked at E3 Consulting for almost four years, most recently as a Senior Property Tax Surveyor. He was previously an Assistant Consultant in Quantitative Services at EY, where he worked for a little over two years. Earlier in his career, Guppy worked as a Tax Consultant at Rider Levett Bucknall for almost three years, starting his career at E3 Consulting as a Property Tax Surveyor in 2007.

Holding a Master of Science in Quantity Surveying from Kingston University, Guppy also gained a Bachelor of Arts in French & Politics from the University of Southampton, and a completed a Graduate Diploma in Law.

Guppy has been appointed as an Associate Director in the firm’s Capital Allowances practice for the wider the southern region. He brings a decade of allowances experience to the firm, and its clients across the region.
