BDO adds partners Jason Gottschalk and Simon Jones in London
BDO has hired two new Partners, both join the firm's London office. Jason Gottschalk, formerly an Associate Director at KPMG, takes on the role of Partner in the firm's Cyber Security practice. Simon Jones, formerly at Duff & Phelps where he was a Managing Director, joins the firm as a Partner in its Valuations practice.
Prior to joining BDO, Jason Gottschalk worked at KPMG, where, over a period of eight years, he rose to the role of Associate Director. At KPMG he worked predominantly in the firm’s cyber security practice, supporting the firm’s clients, across the financial services, energy, public and retail sectors, prepare their frontiers for the realities of the digital age.
Gottschalk holds a Master of Science in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from Rhodes University and a National Diploma in Information Technology from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
Gottschalk joins the firm’s the firm as Partner in its Cyber Security practice. He brings more than 15 years of experience to the firm, and will support clients with, among others, risk consulting. Stationed in London, he too provides support for the Canadian region.
Prior to joining BDO, Simon Jones worked at Duff & Phelps as a Managing Director for almost two years (following its acquisition of American Appraisal). He was previously at for ten years at American Appraisal, most recently as a Director in the firm’s Valuation business. Earlier roles include Analyst at Merrill Lynch, Editor at Reed Business Information, and Editor at Euromoney, where he started his career.
Jones brings more than 12 years of experience to the role of Partner, which he will leverage to support clients assess the value of private and public companies, intellectual property and complex financial instruments. He is based in the firm’s London office.
Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Geography from the University of Hull, a Master of Business Administration in financial markets & corporate finance from the Imperial College London Business School. He is a Chartered Financial Accountant from the CFA Institute.
Earlier this year BDO appointed Stuart Walters as Chief Information Officer of its UK member firm.
