Scott Houghton joins Actuarial Practice of Oliver Wyman
The Actuarial Practice of Oliver Wyman in the United States has added Scott Houghton to its team in Hartford, Connecticut. Houghton joins from KPMG, where he spent 2,5 years working in its actuarial consultancy department.
Scott Houghton has more than 25 years of actuarial experience, including 20 years of consulting for insurers, reinsurers, and financial institutions. His areas of practice include financial modeling, financial reporting, and investment risk management. He started his career in 1988 as an Actuarial Analyst with Boston Mutual Life Insurance, after which he worked for more than five years at North American Life (now John Hancock). In July 1995 Houghton moved to the consulting industry, joining Avon Consulting Group, and after 5,5 years at Avon he strengthened Aon Consulting, where he in his last role served as Vice President. Most recently, Houghton was a consulting actuary with KPMG and Valani Consulting, where he led numerous modeling and conversion projects using GGY AXIS software.

From January 1st 2015, Houghton moved to Oliver Wyman, where he serves as a Principal in the firm’s Actuarial Consulting Practice. The team he is part of advises financial institutions, regulators, and self-insured entities across a broad spectrum of risk management issue in the field of property & casualty, life and healthcare. Oliver Wyman’s Actuarial Consulting Practice consists of nearly 200 professionals in North America, across 16 offices in the US, Canada and the Caribbean.
Oliver Wyman recently appointed 29 new partners in 10 countries, including twelve in North America.
