A&M promotes Jonathan Hickman to lead role in Restructuring arm
Alvarez & Marsal has in the US promoted Jonathan Hickman to the role of co-Head of the firm's Restructuring division in the Southern Region. He leads the unit together with Brian Cejka.
Jonathan Hickman joined Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) in 2002, following five years as Director of Ten Hoeve Bros’s Petroleum Services Group. During his more than 14 years of service, and throughout his more than 20 years of industry experience, he rose to the level of Managing Director and has held a range of interim management roles, including as CEO, CRO and COO for clients, particularly, as well as supporting senior lenders with the turnaround, restructuring and bankruptcies in a wide range of sectors, from energy to financial services. Hickman holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Vanderbilt University and is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA).
The appointment sees Hickman become the co-head of A&M’s Southern Region within the firm’s North American Restructuring division. He will work closely with Managing Director Brian Cejka, who too will act as co-head of the practice. The addition will support firms in the region, particularly energy companies, facing pressures and opportunities from a range of factors.
Jeff Stegenga, Chair of A&M’s North American Commercial Restructuring practice, says, “Jonathan’s commitment to the firm and the industry is evidenced by his dedication to serve A&M clients over the past 15 years, and this promotion to regional leadership is a natural next step for him. His depth of experience in financial restructuring and turnaround management has been instrumental in helping our clients navigate difficult challenges and enhance stakeholder value.”
