Gate One hires Don Shields to grow digital transformation offering
Gate One has recently added Don Shields to its team. Shields joins from Cognizant, where he led the firm’s Digital practice in the UK.
Don Shields has around 20 years of experience in digital, e-commerce, omni-channel and online business, working with both FTSE 100 companies, mid-sized companies and start-ups. Prior to joining Gate One, a London-based management consulting firm, Shields worked for two years at Cognizant, where he headed the Digital Transformation consulting group across all industries. Previously, Shields served SapientNitro, where he, during his five year tenure at the firm, led the European consulting team and headed several complex multi-million pound digital, IT and transformation programmes in a broad range of organisations across Travel, Retail, Insurance, Consumer Goods and Government. Clients he worked with include Mattel, Marks and Spencer, Kao Brands, Aviva, AS Watson, ICA, Tesco and Clas Ohlson.
Prior to that, between 1996 and 2010, Shields held roles at IBM Global Business Services, Tesco and Accenture, after starting his career in IBM’s consulting arm.
At Gate One, Shields has been appointed Digital Lead and is tasked with further growing the firm’s digital offering – one of the most in-demand segments of the consulting industry. “Digital transformation is a strength of ours and Don’s deep digital experience will be invaluable as we continue to build up industry-leading digital transformation services”, states Gate One in a press release.
Commenting on his new adventure, Shields says that he is relishing the opportunity to work with Gate One to help clients embrace digital and transform operating models. He adds, “I feel that too many digital transformation efforts fail not because of a lack of commitment or energy, but due to a lack of good guidance, governance, and understanding. Gate One has an excellent team of knowledgeable top tier consultants that are experts at helping clients to successfully transform their businesses. I am excited to add my experience and passion for digital to further enhance Gate One’s capabilities.”
Earlier this year Gate One achieved a major milestone in its three year history with the hiring of its 50th consultant.
