Professional services firm RGP has appointed Herb Mueller as its new Chief Financial Officer. Mueller who previously served as Managing Director of the firm’s Atlanta practice, replaces Nathan Franke, who has retired from the business.

Herb Mueller has been with Resources Global Professionals (RGP) since 2012, during the time holding several leadership roles. Most recently he headed RGP’s Atlanta, Georgia, practice, leading the unit to significant growth in the region, focusing on consulting opportunities in finance and accounting, information management and internal audit. Prior to joining RGP, Mueller was the Chief Financial Officer at TTA Partners, a holding company focused on investments in the advertising industry, and at Delta Apparel, a publicly-traded apparel manufacturer and distributor. Earlier in his career Mueller worked in the financial services industry.

Mueller, who holds a Bachelor in Arts in Accounting from Columbus State University and is a certified public accountant, was promoted to the new role following a search led by global executive search firm, Spencer Stuart. In his new capacity, he will be responsible for all financial aspects of Resources' operations across its global footprint (68 offices), including financial operations, financial advisory to the Board and investor relations.

“I am delighted to promote Herb to this position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer,” says Anthony Cherbak, Chief Executive Officer of the consulting firm, founded in 1996 within Deloitte’s ranks in the US. “Herb has been an excellent field leader, building the business and serving clients in our Southeast region. Herb understands field operations, RGP's culture, and financial management and accounting. He brings a great blend of experience and knowledge to this important role.”

Retiring Nathan Franke served as the CFO of RGP since November 2007, when he joined after a 22 year career at Deloitte, where, for the past twelve years, he served as an audit partner. “I want to wish Nate the very best in retirement,” says Cherbak. “Nate has been a terrific partner and friend and we will miss him in the company day-to-day.” Franke will in the coming months provide transition support to Mueller and will remain available to RGP on a consulting basis to, where required, assist with projects.

In addition to Mueller’s appointment, RGP has also promoted John Bower, the company's Senior Vice President of Finance, since 2005, to the newly-created role of Chief Accounting Officer. Bower has served the consultancy for more than 18 years. He started as RGP's controller, having previously been a Senior Manager at a Big Four firm and Director of SEC Reporting at FHP International.
