FTI Consulting appoints Clare Hartnell as Senior MD

Global business advisory firm FTI Consulting has appointed Clare Hartnell as a Senior Managing Director in its European Tax Advisory practice, based in London. Hartnell, who has extensive experience in real estate, will be responsible for advising clients on real estate tax.

Clare Hartnell brings more than 25 years of experience in advising businesses in the real estate sector on taxation to her new role at FTI Consulting. Hartnell most recently served as Global Leader and Partner of Grant Thornton’s Real Estate & Construction practice, a firm she worked at for 13 years. Prior to this, she worked at BDO, a company she joined in 1989 and left 12 years later as Senior Manager.

Hartnell holds a Bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance from Middlesex University. In addition, she holds qualifications as a Charted Accountant and in Islamic Finance, from the Securities & Investment Institute.

As Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting’s European Tax Advisory practice, Hartnell will focus on real estate tax, advising property businesses ranging from regeneration projects to significant investors and developers on commercial and tax issues. “Clare is the perfect fit for our practice. The team currently provides a range of services to the real estate sector, including tax advisory, due diligence and transactional support.
