Savalis Ireland, to meet the growing local demand for building and project consultancy, has hired Allen Devine to run its new in-house Building and Project Consultancy in Dublin. Devine joins the firm from Malcolm Hollis, where he was most recently a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor.

Savalis is an international real estate services provider, founded 1855 in London. The company was incorporated in 1987 and became a London Stock Exchange listed company in 1988. Today the company employs more than 30,000 people across a network of 700 offices and associates worldwide. The firm’s Irish operation began in 2006, with the purchase of Hamilton Osborne King, the then largest commercial property advisers in Ireland, for €50 million. Today Savills Ireland provides service across real estate advisory, from offices in Dublin, Cork and Belfast together with suburban residential offices throughout Dublin.

The firm recently announced that it is expanding its operations through the launch of a Building and Project Consultancy team in its Irish office. The new service aims to improve its offering to regional clients, as the Irish economy continues to pick up. Building and project consultancy had been on offer to the Irish market; however, the UK arm was relied on to deliver the service, under the guidance of Simon Collett.

The new service, which will provide an in-house offering to the Irish market from the Dublin office, will be led by Allen Devine. Devine recently joined the firm from Malcolm Hollis, where he was most recently a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor. Devine holds a Bachelor of Science in Building Surveying and is, in addition, a chartered member of both the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

In his new role, Devine will lead a consultancy team offering services for technical due diligence, project management, design and contract administration, dilapidations and reinstatement cost assessments. The new offering will be linked to the Savills UK & European Building Team.

Head of building and project consultancy at Savills, Simon Collett, comments "The landscape of the property industry in Ireland has changed quite dramatically in recent years and, with a significant increase in construction taking place throughout the country, now is an opportune time for us to launch this new division within Savills Ireland."
