Consultant - Analytics
Our Advanced Analytics team combines the entrepreneurial spirit of a new function with the knowledge and backing of an established, international company. We are looking for a Consultant to join the practice, which focuses on helping clients to shape their business strategy and gain a competitive edge.
About CIL
CIL is an international management consultancy helping clients to grow their businesses, build value and invest wisely across a wide range of sectors. Our engagements are typically short (4-6 weeks) and involve an M&A element, primarily to advise private equity firms who are looking to invest in high growth businesses.
The role
Our Advanced Analytics team acts as a centre of excellence for novel and complex analytics, working directly with clients and helping to add value on the core consulting team’s projects.
We are looking for an exceptional person to join our team as a Consultant. In this role you will be designing and implementing analytics solutions for clients across a broad range of projects. You will be expected to take on lots of responsibility from an early stage, working directly for our Analytics Director and CIL Partners from the outset.
Your work will involve:
-
Delivering high quality analytics and data infrastructure projects using a range of tools (e.g. Python, SQL, PowerBI, Alteryx and cloud data infrastructure).
-
Identifying and addressing roadblocks in the analytics process for yourself, clients and others in your team.
-
Working directly with clients that routinely demand the very highest standards.
-
Supporting the upskilling of the wider consulting team in more advanced analytical techniques.
Office vs. home working
It is expected that this role can involve a mixture of home and office working (three to four days per week in the office), although we think the successful candidate would probably benefit from more office time initially to help them get up the curve.
Working for CIL
We have two offices in the UK – one in London and one in Frome, near Bath. Our London office is based in the heart of The City near Bank / St Pauls, and within easy commuting distance of most parts of London. We also have offices in the USA (Chicago), France (Paris) and Germany (Munich).

-
Strong academic background.
-
A ‘growth mindset’ when it comes to problem solving.
-
Motivation and ambition, able to stand on their own two feet.
-
Strong team working and people skills.
-
Outstanding numeracy, written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
-
A keen sense of humour and broad shoulders.
Salary and benefits
-
Competitive base salary and participation in our generous company bonus scheme.
-
25 days’ holiday entitlement with option to purchase five additional days each year.
-
Flexible working options, with little travel and the potential to work from home.
-
Option to join company private healthcare scheme through Vitality.
-
Matched pension contributions of 4.5%.
-
Life assurance and long-term sick cover.
-
Enhanced parental leave & pay policies.
-
Regular company events & socials.
Role requirements
We would be particularly interested in applicants with 3-4 years’ experience in an analytics role, ideally within a strategy consulting setting. However, we strongly encourage any applicant to apply if they feel they meet the criteria set out below, regardless of the current amount of experience that they hold.
The role would suit someone who has:
-
A track record in delivering analytics solutions in tools such as Python, SQL, PowerBI, Alteryx and cloud data infrastructure (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran etc.). You should have an appetite and capability for developing expertise beyond these.
-
Outstanding communication skills, with an ability to communicate complex methodologies to audiences who may not be familiar with the analytics toolkit.
-
Experience at a relevant organisation with experience of delivering analytics solutions and projects either to clients or within an organisation
-
Experience of managing and going the extra-mile to help others. We like candidates to exhibit our core values across their work experience – supportiveness, integrity, and excellence.
-
Excellent numeracy and completely fluent written and spoken English – other languages an advantage.
We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply. CIL commits to creating and maintaining a culture where every employee feels included and respected; to countering discrimination through our recruitment and training processes and our interaction with other stakeholders; and to celebrating the diverse contributions of all our employees and stakeholders.
