Business Technology (IT Performance) – Technology Strategy & Transformation – UK

The Business Technology practice is one of the leading CIO & CTO advisory and technology innovation teams in the UK and Europe. Our consultants deliver tangible outcomes across business and IT-oriented environments, working collaboratively with major FTSE 100 and government clients to help them achieve their strategic goals and leverage technology as a key driver of sustainable growth and ambitious change.

An overview of the role:

Our IT Performance team is part of the growing Business Technology practice. We are seeking dynamic and intellectually curious problem solvers to join the team that is dedicated to helping clients make strategic decisions, develop technological capabilities and realise their digital transformation objectives. Drawing upon our extensive expertise, we enable our clients to maximise the value of their technology investments and create lasting competitive advantage for their organisations.

The IT Performance team is structured across three core disciplines: (i) Technology Strategy; (ii) IT Cost & Value; and (iii) IT Mergers & Acquisitions, and our work typically involves the following:

•    Defining inventive technology strategies and transformation roadmaps that enable business ambitions and establishing the right initiatives, capabilities and processes to sustain a competitive advantage.
•    Designing and implementing future-proof IT operating models that deliver impactful technology strategies and enable business agility and future innovation, covering all aspects of people, processes, and technology.
•    Developing frameworks for understanding and managing the total cost of ownership of technology solutions. This includes providing cost transparency, identifying value drivers and cost optimisation opportunities. 
•    Performing technology due diligence, integration planning, risk mitigation and synergy identification for M&A transactions and the delivery of large-scale post-merger integration/ carve-out programs.

As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:
•    Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
•    Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
•    Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.
 

We’d love to meet someone with:

We are looking for the following experience and capabilities from our Managing Consultant and Senior Manager-level candidates:

•    Experience in leading and supporting sales efforts (bids, RFPs & proposals), as well as structuring deals and engagement commercials 
•    Evidence of achieving sales targets of at least £500k (Managing Consultant) / £1m (Senior Manager) per annum as well as building and maintaining a pipeline of work
•    Demonstrate a proactive attitude to building and maintaining trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders
•    Evidence of delivering and leading successful large-scale, complex IT transformation delivery engagements, driving positive outcomes and developing opportunities to deliver follow-on work
•    Evidence of specialism in one or more of the following core areas: (i) Technology Strategy; (ii) IT Cost Management and Optimisation; (iii) Mergers & Acquisitions delivery from an IT perspective (divestment, PMI, IT due diligence, asset restructuring delivery)
•    Evidence of managing teams, including multiple workstreams in complex delivery environments, fostering practice development, team building and mentoring junior colleagues
