The Role
As we pursue our ambitious growth plans, we are looking for an experienced and ambitious Commercial Lawyer to join our in-house team in London . This is a unique opportunity to work with the recently established Partnership Office whose objective is to support the recruitment, onboarding and integration of new Managing Directors joining the EMEA business and combine legal experience with a wider commercial exposure.
The Responsibilities
Reporting to the EMEA Chief Administrative Officer and EMEA General Counsel, you will be responsible for:
- Interpreting commercial compensation and reward information and using this information to prepare accurate offer letters and partnership/employment agreements for prospective Managing Directors.
- Acting as a key point of contact for Managing Directors during critical phases in their offer process, onboarding and integration into A&M. This will include explaining how key concepts of A&M’s compensatory structure operates.
- Assisting in the interpretation of prospective Managing Directors' restrictive covenants and related strategy concerning the transition to A&M.
- Providing general commercial legal support to the Partnership Office function.
- Continuously developing, improving, and in some cases, innovating internal processes.
- Assisting the EMEA General Counsel with general legal matters in connection with current Managing Directors and potentially wider HR issues.
The Requirements
The ideal candidate will be an experienced lawyer who possesses excellent commercial legal acumen, organisational experience and well-developed communication skills.
- Experience gained within a commercial in -house legal environment.
- Experience in drafting and interpreting a variety of commercial legal agreements, preferably including partnership/executive compensation agreements such as remuneration plans, profit share agreements, LLP and shareholder agreements and other commercial legal documents.
- High level of numeracy and comfortable working with commercial content.
- Fluency in English is essential; other European languages are advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills; experience presenting to senior management.
