An overview of the role:

To deliver long term, sustainable value for Capgemini Invent UK clients, enabling them with fresh perspectives and digital solutions so that they can play a transformative role in addressing planetary, people and systems challenges through operationalising sustainability.

The work:

 

 

Our service offering, Sustainable IT, will enable you to leverage the vast power of technology to help the industry become a source for sustainable behaviour in business. Every organisation across all industries has an IT division, with the potential to lead that company to net-zero and beyond.
 
To help our clients on this journey, there is a requirement to establish new thinking and solutions that enable business to play a transformative role in addressing planetary, people and systems challenges.
 
The role will include responsibility for client facing consultation, drafting winning sustainability solutions/ technology proposals and project delivery in collaboration with UK sector and business market units colleagues for industry specific client opportunities, that embed purpose and operationalise sustainability.

Why this role?

As an individual contributor and senior member of the team you’ll help set the direction, driving forward the business, model our values and behaviours, and coach and develop junior members of the team.  Key expectations from this role include:

•    Identify sustainability strengths, gaps and focus areas in current IT architecture (As-Is), and iterate upon solutions to increase client maturity in this area (To-Be)
•    Identify, partner with, and leverage emerging green technology to assist the clients in their sustainable IT transformations
•    With key focus on innovation, work with the teams to identify areas and aspects of demonstrating sustainable benefits, use cases and initiatives through innovative sustainable technology ideas e.g. block chain for sustainability reporting, use of AI/ ML concepts in sustainability
•    Leverage data analytics, ML, blockchain and AI to generate durable, long-term solutions which will enable clients to become leading global brands in sustainability and to plan effectively for the future
•    Client facing consultation and strategy development across a broad range of sustainable business challenges and digital innovation
•    Tailored analysis and assessment of client IT estate infrastructure and organisational layout across the sustainability pillars of environment, social and governance (ESG)
•    Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations in response to tenders for new and existing clients
•    Be a champion of sustainability within Capgemini and to proactively embed it within company culture through being a proponent of our internal sustainability strategy and leadership messages and mentoring colleagues seeking to develop experience in sustainability or other professional contexts
•    Lead articulation of assigned program elements in whitepapers, reports, presentations, rating submissions.
•    Has a proven track record in structuring & selling B2C and/ or B2B tech products (SaaS etc) or charitable/for-good initiatives or sustainability solutions/ tools solutions directly to businesses.
•    Can learn and build upon what our clients are really after, and someone who can identify how to make propositions painkillers vs vitamins.
•    Is happy to work on both smaller and larger deals simultaneously
•    Is driven as much by purpose as by financials
 

Why you?

•    Demonstrated client-facing experience within the technology industry, i.e. sales engineering, software/hardware sales, consulting, business development, implementation, partnerships, etc - ideally within the sustainability space
•    Creative thinking and new ideas around how technology can become more sustainable and can accelerate organisational sustainability
•    Strong knowledge - i.e. education or professional background - of the numerous, complex moving parts of the sustainability sector and a passion to make an impact
•    Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
•    Experience of proposition building and delivery. 
•    Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background.
•    Business development – utilising a combination of the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships, company relationships and your own network, you’ll be generating and/ or contributing to £1 million in sales.
