An overview of the role:

 

Our team is undergoing a transformative stage of growth. Our clients are looking for expertise from Capgemini Invent to define and shape their Portfolio Management capability against increasingly challenging times, with Covid-19 disruption, increasingly complex customer expectations, business agility and a rapid evolving Portfolio Function that needs to support traditional Waterfall along with both Agile and Hybrid delivery methodologies. 

 

We are looking for talented individuals to join the Digital Acceleration consulting team within Business Technology and help support our large-scale corporate clients in developing their Portfolio Management capabilities. We have a requirement for Portfolio Managers at Managing Consultant and Senior Manager levels.
 

Why this role?

 

As a Managing Consultant/Senior Manager in the business you’ll lead the client engagement, driving forward the business, model our values and behaviours, and coach and develop junior members of the team. You will be expected to:

 

•    Develop, maintain and improve Portfolio Management methodologies and processes such as demand management, governance and reporting, financial management etc. across both Business and IT Portfolios
•    Develop and support the creation of the investment appraisals and business cases for new ideas and demand
•    Participate in discussions and activities regarding project funding, resourcing, and prioritisation to support creation of the Portfolio Delivery Roadmap
•    Move programs and projects through portfolio planning and execution and co-ordinate with IT Programme and Project Managers to assess the portfolio status and health 
•    Understand, evaluate and manage risks to the portfolio
•    Develop portfolio level metrics, dashboards and reports for senior management and other stakeholders 
•    Work within either a Waterfall, Agile or Hybrid methodology depending on the client environment
•    Demonstrate the attributes required to be successful in a fast-paced Consulting environment 
•    Interface with client stakeholders across a broad level (junior through to senior), and able to communicate status and articulate effectively at decision-making meetings

As an experienced Portfolio Manager, you will have the following skillset and experience:

 

•    Evidence of defining the Portfolio Vision and Strategy and aligning it with the emerging opportunities and the organisation’s vision and strategy
•    Evidence of assessing the current state of the portfolio function and recommending improvement initiatives to mature the portfolio management capabilities
•    Evidence of significant experience in understanding of business priorities, supporting business change and managing successful business partnerships
•    Evidence of leading the review and monitoring of the portfolio status and its impact on the current business and operations
•    Able to provide leadership and knowledge in the areas of Portfolio Office, Programme and Project delivery, portfolio management frameworks and tools for effective portfolio management
•    Evidence of subject matter expertise in facilitating business transformation and adoption of Agile and Hybrid best practices within the portfolio function
•    Evidence of excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence business decisions and command credibility at senior management level, managing complex relationships across an organisation
•    Evidence of strong people leadership skills, team building and effective coaching to increase the capabilities of junior associate consultant / consultant resources 
•    Evidence of career progression and expansion of roles / responsibilities as your career has advanced 
•    Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background
