Solution Architecture (Women in Tech Career Changer Scheme)

Gender diversity is a serious challenge in the technology industry: women hold only 25 percent of tech jobs. PA Women in Tech aims to increase gender diversity and inclusion within technical fields, and our Career Changers Programme aims to bring female and non-binary career changers into the firm, to train in technical fields and take on technical, client-facing project work.​

This scheme provides an opportunity for female and non-binary career changers to upskill technically in Architecture. This scheme is for experienced hires, and runs separately from our Graduate Scheme, to allow for:​

• Proper utilization of candidates' experience and skills​

• Focused, accelerated career progression​

• Tailored support and development

We aim to build a pipeline of ambitious technical talent with established soft skills and diverse industry experience, providing training and project exposure to bridge the technical gap as they progress in their careers.

Participants will complete a month of intensive training, followed by additional training throughout the year.​

• Consultancy training (as all PA Architects hires receive)​

• PA Architecture training, providing introductory workshops to the detail necessary across all Architecture domains: Business, Data, Application, Technology and Security. ​

• A week-long practical team project, with support from the WiT team and Architecture Capability experts​

• ‘Showcasing’ (interning) on a client-facing project​

After this initial training, candidates will have the opportunity to complete further supplementary and specialised training throughout the rest of the year, with options such as TOGAF, Azure, AWS or GCP Certifications and the opportunities to work on technical Proofs of Concepts. They will also be paired with a PA Women in Tech Mentor within Architecture to support their professional and technical growth

• Great at verbal and written communication, planning and time management​

• Clear interest in Solution Architecture or one of the Architecture Domains​

• Have previous IT experience in one of the following: Software Development, Testing, Analysis, DevOps, Business Analysis, Delivery, Project Management or Systems Engineers) ​

• Previous Stakeholder or Client (i.e., internal) facing experience​

• You're a natural problem-solver ​

• Good people skills ​

• Creative thinking ​

• Ability to work collaboratively ​

• Passion or desire to want to work in Architecture​

• Self Awareness
