As a Director / Senior Manager you will be responsible for leading the enterprise architecture service offering within PwC’s Technology Consulting team.
Key responsibilities and activities include
Leading the winning and delivery of enterprise-level technical solutions across Architecture domains (Applications, Infrastructure, Integration, Security, Data etc)
Work within the broader PwC Technology team to provide comprehensive and tailored technology solutions to clients
Act as a technical SME to develop solutions and strategies to solve complex technical challenges
Lead the creation and maintenance of strategic roadmaps, principles, standards and reference architectures
Work with IT executives to define, understand and document the IT strategy and desired IT capabilities, iterate new IT capabilities into the future state technology architecture in support of the business strategy
Develop and maintain the technical architecture structure from business capability to applications to data
Provide deep technical knowledge and guide Solution Architects to ensure compliance with enterprise and functional area strategic roadmaps
Align with Portfolio Management and verify budget and resource commitment to support roadmaps (via architecture dependencies and prioritisation)
As a Director in PwC, you will be expected to also:
Lead business development activities to identify opportunities on new/existing clients
Develop market awareness of PwC’s technology brand and service offerings
Continue to develop industry relationships and your PwC brand
Lead, train, coach and supervise a small team of technical resources
Lead the development of your own and team’s technical acumen
Lead a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Partners
Lead the financial management of clients
Establish strong working relationships with senior business, technology and change management stakeholders, in the capacity of a trusted advisor on Architecture matter
Establish strategic alliances, and lead joint ventures with key IT suppliers and business partners
Communicate the practical implications of architectural decisions, issues and plans to executive, business, technical delivery and IT management stakeholders
Requirements
15+ years experience in solution design and technical delivery with at least 2 years in an architecture or related role (eg Solution Architect, Design Authority)
Experience presenting technology architecture artifacts at Exec / Board level.
A broad understanding across all architecture domains with an in depth knowledge of multiple architecture domains e.g. application, data, integration or infrastructure. Certification in an Enterprise Architecture framework eg TOGAF practitioner would be an advantage
Demonstrated ability in documenting and socialising your solution design and conducting review and challenge sessions before presenting your solution design at governance fora.
Professional services experience preferable
Market facing experience in terms of identifying and winning new work
Experience in establishing and leading relationships with clients, vendors and service providers.
Strong communication skills for senior client C-suite conversations and for PwC and media activities. Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence senior stakeholders and technical stakeholders.
Experience with large scale IT strategy development across at least two industry sectors
Experience mentoring junior team members and managing day to day activities of the team
Demonstrated ability to Identify new opportunities and solutions
Knowledge of key technology trends (e.g. RPA, AI, Blockchain) and how technology can be used to solve business problems of our clients
Ability to work with various sector teams e.g. Financial Services (Banking, Insurance, Asset Wealth Management etc.), Public Sector, Technology, Retail etc.
