An overview of the role:

 

The UK Energy Market is undergoing profound change, and this is creating significant demand for our services.  We have had a great deal of success in this space and are moving to deepen our team and build the next wave of business for us. 

 

We are looking for a senior leader to join the team and continue this growth.  This leader will develop senior client and wider stakeholder relationships, they will bring a deep understanding of the change that the market is undergoing, they will further build our team, they will commercially shape our propositions, and they will take delivery accountability.  Digital will be at the heart of much of this change and it will be core to what we do in this market. 

 

Your current experience will put you at Senior Director or VP level within your current organisation.  You will have an entrepreneurial mindset and be excited about the opportunity to build a new business.

 

This role sits within the Energy and Utilities market team in Capgemini Invent.

Why this role?

 

The successful candidate will be joining as a management consultant and will be on a consulting leadership career path. This brings expectations in terms of delivery both to clients and with supporting the Invent business through activities such as capability and business development.

 

You will need to demonstrate where you have built lasting senior client relationships over several years as you work through difficult and complex problems with them.  This will include the engagement of a wider set of stakeholders, and for this role this will possibly include Ofgem and BEIS. 

 

You will bring a deep understanding of the change that the market is undergoing and have a view of the key changes that will need to be made to make the market effective.  You will be comfortable discussing these concepts and in identifying the actions and plans that will be needed to implement the change.

Digital is at the heart of much of our business and you will be experienced in developing both digital and traditional management consulting propositions.  Most of our work is performed at the intersection of business and technology. 

 

This is a commercially accountable role.  You will shape propositions with values in the range of £250k to £20m and be comfortable presenting your commercial arrangements to clients and to senior leaders in our business for approval.

 

We have a sell-deliver model, meaning that you will take delivery accountability for every project that you sell.  This requires a hands-on approach and attention to detail. 

Why you?

 

You are probably already deeply experienced in at least one area of the UK Central Energy Market, such as codes, regulation, central systems, trading, or settlements (a non-exhaustive list)

 

You will be a natural team builder.  We have an existing team, and a priority will be to grow this team at all levels of the pyramid.  You will have the backing of the Invent leadership team as you do this. 

 

 

  • Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
  • Experience of proposition building and delivery.
  • Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background.
  • Business development – utilising a combination of the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships, company relationships and your own network, you’ll be generating c .£2m of consulting revenues (Director) /c.4m of consulting revenues (Vice President).

Whilst you will have London, Manchester or Glasgow as an office base location, you must be fully flexible in terms of assignment location, as these roles may involve periods of time away from home at short notice.
