Job Description

Join our Complex Systems team and work across the Energy and Utilities sector in one of our offices in London/ Bristol/ Cambridge/ Manchester.

Complex Systems is one of PA’s capability teams and works with organisations to help them better understand their technologies, stakeholders, and the environments within which they operate so that they can make better decisions and improve performance.

Through our work we:

· Help design and implement change including optimising how organisations work

· Develop state-of-the-art ingenious solutions to our clients’ hardest problems (e.g. Hyperloop)

· Bring clarity to complexity to identify opportunity

· Building resilience against future threats and change

· Formulate tractable problems to understand the nature of challenges

· Define frameworks for moving from strategy to solution and across technical to commercial

Within our Energy & Utilities sector we have more than 250 consultants working across the Water, Energy Transition and Nuclear sub-sectors on some of the most challenging and high-profile assignments that make a real difference to our climate future.

We are looking for candidates with skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Knowledge of and interest in Energy & Utilities sector – ranging from current trends and technology to future solutions and advancements
  • A strong track record in delivering solutions and thinking creatively to solve complex problems
  • A drive for personal and professional progression
  • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills in multi-cultural environments
  • Prior experience or understanding of systems thinking and complex problem solving desired but not critical
  • Prior experience in systems definition and design, enterprise architecture (beyond software solutions), systems modelling and dynamics, or systems integration, verification, and acceptance desired but not critical


What You Need to Succeed

To rise to the challenges of this Consultant role, you’ll need a strong track record of delivering solutions and thinking creatively to solve complex problems. Experience in systems definition and design, modelling, enterprise architecture, systems integration, verification and acceptance is highly desirable.

You’ll also need excellent interpersonal skills, the drive to succeed and progress within PA and, ideally, previous experience in one of the following areas: Health and Life Sciences, Transport, Defence and Security, Public Services or Energy and Utilities.

Degree educated or qualified by experience in a relevant subject area
