Job Description

As interest in core areas of our energy transition work continues to grow, we are looking for a sustainable fuels expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in a relevant field coupled with an understanding of how markets for sustainable fuels are developing, with a knowledge of key technology trends and drivers.

We are looking for candidates with a range of experience, so whether you are in the early stages of your career or are an industry ‘guru’ we would like to hear from you.

Role specifics

Function specific activities include:

Act as a subject matter expert in sustainable fuel production pathways or related industrial processes (e.g. advanced biofuels, e-fuels, recycled carbon fuels, waste-to-energy processes, sustainable chemicals).

  • Apply knowledge of sustainable fuel value chains and policy areas to provide clients with technical support to solve strategic challenges (e.g. developing technology strategy, market strategy).
  • Confidently communicate complex technical information and its commercial implications to external stakeholders.
  • Support the development of more junior team members.
  • Support or manage (depending on seniority) project delivery to achieve high quality results within budget and time constraints.
  • Support or lead (depending on seniority) business development activities, including drafting and presenting project proposals


  • Experience of conducting market or techno-economic analysis in a sustainable fuels context.
  • Process design experience across various design maturity stages (e.g. feasibility, FEED stages).
  • Commercial awareness with experience in strategic decision making or strategy advisory services.
  • Experience in a client-facing role in a fast-paced consultancy or similar environment.


A degree in a relevant subject or qualified by experience
